Is humor a tool of revolutionaries?
At one time I believed that the grit to the pearl of humor involved a psychological shrugging off of the cognitive dissonance incited by discrepant values.* (A joke about finding Bill Clinton in your wife's bed would be more funny to those who hate Bill Clinton and praise sexual fidelity.)
Is humor the serious business of temporarily taking things less seriously? What's potentially most funny? That which can be portrayed as having the greatest distance between customary valuation and how unflattering it can be portrayed?
