Did you know that the moon is roughly 238,857 miles from the Earth? That it’s diameter is 2,159 miles? It’s gravity is about 17% the strength of that on Earth? [source]

Does knowing that information make the above photography any less stunning?

No. In fact, I believe the scientific understanding adds a sort of richness to the pic. Perspective even.

Those who believe science diminishes the beauty of the world are looking through the wrong end of a telescope, so to speak.
