
Time to rake the yard. There are fallen oak leaves everywhere. This is a passage of spring. At least in Florida. Not far behind: new oak leaves. And then caterpillars that feed on them. And then blackbirds that feed on the caterpillars.
Maybe I should put those blackbirds in a pie to make the cycle complete. Actually, to truly make the cycle complete I’d have to do something unseemly at the base of an oak. So I don’t think I’ll be making any bird pie.
Still, I can marvel at the most visible elements of Springtime changes and the natural recycling of resources.
